Senior Manager, IT Business Relationship Manager, Central Europe

Role / Title
• This position has a dual responsibility as 1) Business Relationship Manager for Germany and Poland and 2) Program manager for a European-wide technology service.
• The BU BRM drives business unit growth through its role as a business partner for the BU management team, in advising on technology capabilities and providing technology solutions to the Business Unit. This role is responsible for the Central Europe Business Unit (Germany and Poland), based in Düsseldorf.
• The regional program/service manager is responsible to lead a strategic capability for the European Zone. This is a new responsibility, requiring personal leadership to establish. The program manager will be accountable to the other BU BRMs for delivery of projects within this service, and work in a matrix with the Global IT organization. This role will be responsible for the European IT End User Services program.

Key Components of the role
This role will be accomplished by:
• Playing an active role as a member of the BU management team to drive business improvement across the BU
• Innovating and influencing how we leverage technology in the organization; identifying opportunities to transform the business through the application of technology
• Working together with global IT groups to ensure alignment of IT strategy with the business priorities and maximize value creation
• Aligning local IT resources and local suppliers to provide the technology solutions and ongoing support per plan
• Managing a strategic program to drive capability across the region, working with other BU BRMs to understand business requirements; collaborating with experts across the region, in a matrix with the global IT team
• Managing a direct team of 1-5 people, plus an indirect network of internal & external staff
This role requires operating at Strategic, Implementation and Operational levels. Complexity of the role depends on both the size (revenue, of locations, of employees etc.) & strategic importance of the BU including plants & the program responsibility.


• University Degree, MBA or post graduate degree preferable
• Excellent written and oral English & German. Other European languages are a plus, especially Polish
• Willingness to travel as required, and mobility is an advantage
• Business acumen and ability to operate at both strategic and operational level with attention to details
• Good influencing, people and project management skills
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Up-to-date knowledge of local and global IT market, with emphasis on latest technology trends and possible application to support business growth
• Strong interpersonal skills, experience of a multicultural environment is an advantage
• Strong customer orientation
• Self-starter, positive attitude, and drive for results
• Project Management Certification (PMP) and/or Service Management Certification (ITIL) is an advantage
• 8+ years relevant commercial experience in IT preferably in a multinational industry
• 3+ years in management role
• Experience in managing multi-country teams
• Experience in managing all areas of IT including IT planning and budgeting, systems development, technology infrastructure, and vendor management
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders from different functions and different organizational levels
• Experience in End User service delivery, and user engagement & enabling in an advantage
